BANDS

I've been called a "triple threat", meaning I play saxophone, flute and clarinet. Here in Central New York, diversity is key -- being able to play more than one instrument well, and being comfortable performing many styles of music is important. I have been hired to play all sorts of music, from religious ceremonies to rock bands.

If you need to hire a group for your event, chances are I can put together a group that fits your situation. And if I can't, I probably can (and will) tell you who to call to get the group that will fit your event.

Here are some combinations of music groups that I have been hired to play in:
Flute Duet (Flute with piano or guitar)
Classical Trio (Flute or clarinet with violin and cello or piano)
Classical Quartet (click the link for Triple Threat Quartet)
Jazz Duo (Sax with piano or guitar)
Jazz Trio (Sax with piano or guitar and drums; or sax with piano and bass)
Jazz Quartet (Sax with piano, bass and drums; or sax with guitar, bass and drums - click the link for The Old Masters)
Jazz Quintet (Sax with trumpet, piano, bass and drums; or sax with trombone, vibes, bass and drums)
Dixieland Band (Sax, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, piano, tuba, drums)
Small Jazz Band (Trumpet, alto & tenor sax, trombone, piano, guitar, bass, drums and vocalist - click the link for Classic Swing Heptet)
Big Band (6 brass, 5 saxes, piano, bass, drums and vocalist - click the link for Big Band Sounds)

There are four main groups that I regularly perform with in Central New York but I am often hired to sub in other groups (the Central New York Jazz Orchestra, for instance). Additionally, I tend to play a lot of musicals both for high school, community, and professional productions (Merry-Go-Round Theatre in Auburn, NY and Orpheus Theatre in Oneonta, NY) as musical pit orchestras almost always require woodwind players who play multiple instruments. Click on the four links to the left to check out the main groups that I play with.
